Art Call: Empower TX Teens – Healing Is Not Linear

About Art Call:

We are hosting a MENTAL HEALTH ART GALLERY in Frisco, Texas in partnership with Project Unbroken, a national non-profit who assists families who have lost their loved ones to mental health crises. It’s a public platform to share your story and connect with a community that cares about mental health. Backed by Project Unbroken, thegallery8680, and with support from the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco.

We are looking for up to 75 artists to submit their artwork to be displayed at their gallery — ages 12+ & all mediums are welcome to submit their work! But we’re not just restricted to local residents, we are calling people nationally too!

If you are a resident in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area, we require you to submit a PHYSICAL piece of artwork to our gallery while national residents are allowed to submit DIGITALLY — and we will get your work on display with members of the DFW community attending the gallery.

Theme:

Our theme, “Healing is Not Linear” can be interpreted in many ways: showing resilience, fixing the cracks, learning how to live daily life again. This theme was inspired by the Japanese Repair Technique known as KINTSUGI, repairing broken pottery by mending the seams with lacquer mixed with powdered gold. This art style represents a philosophy of honoring scars, healing loudly over hiding, and representing the beauty through the broken.

Sale Fee:

Keep 70% of any sales made, with the remaining 30% split between Project Unbroken (our event beneficiary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting families and communities affected by mental health crises), thegallery8680, and Empower Texas Teens to cover event costs.
